 the issue is that the level of killings in Mexico cannot be explained simply by attributing it solely to people in the drug industry and also the US press has almost completely denied that the military is killing people without any evidence that they are criminals and without any semblance of due process.
 the military kills, the police kill, the gangs kill and also the military police and drug people sometimes cooperate in the killing. there is no serious war against drugs. in calderon&#039;s administration less than three hundred soldiers(some statements have the military deaths at about a hundred) have died while tens of thousands of mexicans have been slaughtered (recent numbers suggest over 80,000) and the drug business remains untouched.
so to focus on the drug people as the only source of the killing is misleading.
narcos exist and kill but the scale of death in mexico has many architects and one of them is the state. and the failure of the state to provide any security or any justice to the citizens of mexico.
